All Scriptures from the Passion Translation

Some people say that they’ve “fallen out of love” because they’re comparing the way things used to be with the way they are now. My guess is, that’s not entirely the truth.

Go back over the list from last month, and see what area or areas need attending to. Is it our words or the tone of those words? Our actions or in-actions? Are we building up or tearing down?

When you have an appliance go out, or it’s not working properly, what do you do? Look for the manual, or call for service! Our manual is the Bible and every Bible has a way to search for the subject or words needed to fix our problem.

Titus 2:2-6 is a wonderful start. Apostle Paul is directing Titus on how each age group within the congregation needs to behave for the Kingdom of God to advance. These behaviors can be taught and Paul says; “Lead the male elders into disciplined lives full of dignity and self-control. Urge them to have a solid faith, generous love, and patient endurance. Likewise with the female elders, lead them into lives free from gossip and drunkenness and to be teachers of beautiful things.  This will enable them to teach the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children, and to be self-controlled and pure, taking care of their household and being devoted to their husbands. By doing these things the word of God will not be discredited. Likewise, guide the younger men into living disciplined lives for Christ.”

In 1 John 5:3 John, inspired by Holy Spirit tells us this; “True love for God means obeying His commands, and His commands don’t weigh us down as heavy burdens.”

God’s grace empowers us to love, which makes His commands a delight instead of a duty. The spontaneity of love is never crushed by the commands of a loving God. Through the commandments of Jesus Christ, Who shows us how to love, how to express kindness, generosity, and how to seek the welfare of the other person in our marriage relationship, God can turn our situation around.

Let’s put this into practice today!

1 Peter 3:7 - Why should we walk in unity and love?

John 15:5 - How many things can we do apart from Christ?

Titus 2:4 - Love is not just an emotion; love can be?

Matthew 7:12 - What’s the “Golden Rule”?

"And these miracle signs will accompany those who believe: They will drive out demons in the power of My name. They will speak in tongues. They will be supernaturally protected from snakes and from drinking anything poisonous, and they will lay hands on the sick and heal them."
