All Scriptures from the Passion Translation

Do you want to strengthen your marriage, help others who are struggling, or are you single wanting to be married? Then this topic is for you!

Genesis 2:18; “Then Yahweh-God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. Therefore, I will fashion a suitable partner to be his help and strength.’”

“Help and strength” – “Ezer” in Hebrew, refers to military help, a strong rescuer, and God refers to Himself as “Ezer” fourteen times. The meaning here is that a man’s wife is his first line of defense, and an equal partner.

Marriage is God’s idea, and He knew Adam was going to need help, someone like himself who would also bring him happiness, joy, contentment and purpose.

Genesis 2:23-24; “Then Adam said: ‘At last! One like me! Her bones were formed from my bones, and her flesh from my flesh! This one will be called ‘Woman’, for she was taken from man.’ For this reason, a man leaves his father and his mother to be unselfishly attached to his wife. They become one flesh as a new family!”

Men, do you feel as though your beloved came from you?

In marriage we leave all other relationships to refocus our lives. Marriage creates unity between a man, a woman, and God. Now we have a stronger tie, and a cord of three isn’t quickly broken!

1 Peter 3:7; “Husbands, you in turn must treat your wives with tenderness (consideration), viewing them (make a home as equals) as feminine partners who deserve to be honored, for they are co-heirs with you of the ‘divine grace of life,’ so that nothing will hinder your prayers.”

“Feminine partners”: “Machal” (weak) means neutralizing a threat, that is the threat is weakened. There’s also the idea of “vessel” or “clothing” which is the outrigging of a ship. The wife is like the sails, anchor, and rudder. To move forward, the man needs to respect her part in their marriage.

Are the things we’re doing, the way we’re acting, the words we’re using, and the tone with which we speak to each other causing us to come closer together, or causing a separation? Are they building up, or tearing down?

"And these miracle signs will accompany those who believe: They will drive out demons in the power of My name. They will speak in tongues. They will be supernaturally protected from snakes and from drinking anything poisonous, and they will lay hands on the sick and heal them."
