Righteousness by Grace

Did you know there are 2 kinds of righteousness? One is through works, the other is the true righteousness - righteousness by grace.
Today we’ll be in Romans, the New Testament. Romans, written by the Apostle Paul to
Christians in Rome, Italy; is an excellent book for understanding the foundation OR basics of Christianity.
Definitions for today:
“The Law” – 10 Commandments given to Moses by God, + other laws added.
“Prophesy” – Speak things that become the future.
Please read Romans chapter 3, verses 21 – 23.
The opening statement says “independently of the law” or in other words, “separate from the law, the righteousness of God is through Jesus.” What exactly does this mean? Well, think of it this way: Most people want to go to Heaven when they die. Some expect that this will be their destination. How do they come to this
conclusion?
Some will recite their good works: Donations given, work done for their congregation, helping others, etc. All these things are great and worthwhile doing!
So, if God is grading us only on what we do, how much good do we have to do?
The answer? We have to be 100% perfect all the time! Ridiculous, right? That is exactly what Romans 3:23 tells us; “We are all in need of the glory of God.” In other words, “No one is perfect.”
God’s kind of righteousness is a righteousness that is “through belief in Him, Jesus.”
